Pamela Waterman is a professional writer, electrical engineer and mother of three
children currently under the age of sixteen. She delights in helping children
discover hands-on activities, and has conducted dozens of science and engineering
workshops for teachers, guidance counselors and youth in kindergarten
through college. |

Over the past fifteen years, Ms. Waterman has coordinated high school student science
camps and been a leader and workshop designer for Brownie and Junior Girl
Scout activities. She volunteers regularly in preschool through junior high
classrooms. Ms. Waterman is the author of The Absolute Best Play Days (Sourcebooks 1999) (theme-based activities for children ages 2 to 7), and the co-author of JumpStart 5th Grade Activities, (jointly produced by Knowledge Adventure Software and EPI, 1999) (an educational summer-review book.) She has published numerous articles on parenting, home renovation and business, and contributed extensively to the Parent Page website of Haystack Toys, a company dedicated to creative, non-violent, non-gender-specific play. Her degrees include a B.S. in Astronomy (University of Massachusetts Amherst) and an M.S. in Radio Astronomy (University of Michigan Ann Arbor). Ms. Waterman has served on the national Editorial Board of the Society of Women Engineers since 1996, and has also been a Contributing Editor to Desktop Engineering magazine since 1997. |
